Progress Update, and a few other Things…

Well, I haven’t posted anything about how I’m going with my actual story for a while, so I thought I’d have a shot here. First, though, I’d like to thank anyone and everyone who has had a look at this website, read some of my work, or is reading this post now. It’s been incredible how much attention this site has got, so I thought I’d list some stats below.

All in under five months! I’m really happy with what this site’s achieved so far; It was never going to be one of those blogs with thousands of followers, ears pressed keenly to the ground for word of a new hilarious/informative/creative/insightful post. It’s more of a showcase for my book. That being said, I am incredibly grateful for everyone who has visited, read a page or clicked the ‘follow blog’ button. Heck, I’m grateful to you if you’re reading this post now; it means a lot to me.

Having a site like this is really going to be a huge help on the step to publication. So, again, thank you if you’re reading this.

As for my story, the editing process is going well. It’s a huge task to edit your first draft. I’ve cringed at my poor use of language, but it’s only going to get better from here. Over the next few weeks, I’m going to post a couple of excerpts from my story; bits I really like, bits I don’t, bits with their first draft (read: BAD) counterpart, and the like. I’d really appreciate your feedback on them. In particular, I’d like to know whether the parts that I think are good are actually good, and if I’ve noticeable improved my writing from the first draft to the second.
