Several weeks ago, I entered the first chapter of the Aeon Academy into the Brother Gerry Faulkner competition, a creative writing competition run at my school. The chapter, basically still in it’s first-draft form, took out first place in the senior category, against stern competition.
This, I think, bodes well for my story, bearing in mind that a basically unedited first draft of a much longer work won a competition where technical ability (i.e. grammar) was of utmost importance. Hopefully this indicates that the first chapter is of decent enough standard with it’s ideas. I guess that means I can use ‘award winning’ to describe the chapter :).
