How You Can Help Me Get Published In Under Ten Minutes

How You Can Help Me Get Published In Under Ten Minutes

Publication isn’t an easy thing. It takes months, years, of hard work and good ideas to get a book published. It’s a journey that I’m just beginning; a journey that you can help me complete.

What publishers tend to look for in an unpublished author (i.e. yours truly) is existing interest in their work. Put plainly, this means that someone with a well visited website and many followers will be more likely to be published than someone without a well visited website and without any followers. That being said, of course, the quality of one’s writing does matter, but already having an audience convinces publishers that people will buy your book if it sells.

And that’s where you can help me. By reading this post, for starters, you’ve already given me a tremendous amount of help. There is, however, many more ways you could help my book see the light of bookshops around my country, in under ten minutes. Of course, all of these steps are optional, but I’d really appreciate it if you took the ten minutes to complete each.

0:00 – 1:00: read this list from top to bottom.

1:00 – 1:20: become a follower of this blog and/or sign up for the mailing list by filling out the below contact form. No spam guaranteed.

1:20 – 8:00: visit all the pages and posts on this website. Even if you don’t want to read each page, each view will go towards a tally that can increase my chances of publication. This step could, if you just click each page and view it for five seconds, take even less than this time.

8:00 – 9:30:  leave a comment on a page you found particularly interesting. You can leave a comment on this page too! There’s no need to do this step, however, if you would prefer to not to.

9:30 – 10:00: pat yourself on the back. You’ve just helped me get one step closer to publication! Thanks a heap!

  1. Well, I’m definitely very impressed. so far this week (which has only gone for three days) the site’s had 53 views! That’s more than all of last week, and that was pretty busy in itself. To think I used to use many emoticons when the site got over ten views … :). Thanks guys!

What do you think?
